WILSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) announced on Sunday that it would be installing temporary traffic signals at the intersection of WY22 and WY390 on Monday.

Crews from Modern Electric Co., will assist with the installation on Monday, March 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. The existing traffic signal will be deactivated, and a temporary signal will be installed as part of WYDOT’s project to “improve safety and traffic flow” at the intersection. Flaggers will conduct traffic around the work.

“While long delays are not anticipated, motorists should expect some slowing,” WYDOT’s announcement said.

The temporary signals are expected to remain in place through early April, when the new permanent signal is scheduled to be installed, according to the agency.

During construction, traffic flow patterns will be maintained as such:

  • Southbound WY390: One lane will be open for both left and right turns.
  • Westbound WY22 to Northbound WY390 (Right Turn Lane): This lane will remain open but will be narrower than usual. Drivers are advised to use caution and proceed slowly.

“WYDOT’s first priority is safety of drivers and construction crew members,” the announcement said. “Please travel slowly through the construction zone and follow all speed limits, directional signs and flagging instructions.”
