JACKSON, Wyo. — The rollercoaster beginning to winter weather continues this weekend.
The National Weather Service’s (NWS) Riverton office has issued a winter weather advisory for the Teton, Gros Ventre, Wyoming, Salt River and Wind River mountain ranges, in effect until 11 p.m. Friday night. Snow is expected to the tune of 6 to 10 inches in the mountains, and as much as 10 to 15 inches at the highest elevations. Wind gusts as high as 45 mph are also possible.
NWS added that drivers can expect to see “snow totals up to 6 inches on South Pass, 5 to 10 inches on Togwotee Pass, and 5 to 10 inches on Teton Pass. Travel could be very difficult, especially across mountain passes. Slow down and use caution while traveling.”
