JACKSON, Wyo. — Summer may not officially start until June, but the season’s events begin to kick off this weekend. Here’s a look at all the happenings this summer in Jackson Hole.

Community Events

Old West Days

Old West Days and ElkFest are Jackson Hole’s tribute to its Western Heritage and Community Culture. The festival kicks off on May 19 and will feature the new Best of the West Parade, Old West Brewfest and Million Dollar Music Fest to round out the festival on Memorial Day weekend.

Snake River Fest

Snake River Fest will return for its second year from May 31 to June 3. The festival celebrates the history, stewardship and culture of the Snake River, along with the joy the community finds on the water.

Jackson Hole Rodeo

For over 100 years, the Jackson Hole Rodeo has kept Western heritage alive featuring roping events, bronco riding and other rodeo activities. All rodeos begin at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day with additional rodeos on Fridays during July and August — excluding the Teton County Fair week.

R Park Solstice Celebration

Celebrate the true start of summer on June 23 with live music, free StreetFood tacos (while supplies last) and cold beverages at Rendezvous Park in Wilson. Enjoy free SUP and kayak rentals along with other activities from community partners.

Teton County Fair

This year marks the 67th Annual Teton County Fair. The fair is set to take place from July 22 to 30. The Teton County Fair spans nine days, features entertaining events, shows and programming and draws competitors and spectators from all demographics.

Races

Grand Teton and Yellowstone Half Marathon and 5K

The Grand Teton Half Marathon and 5K and the Yellowstone Half Marathon and 5K will take place on back-to-back weekends in June. The Grand Teton 5K and Grand Teton Half Marahon will take place on June 2 and 3, respctively. The Yellowstone 5K and Yellowstone Half Marathon will take place on June 9 and 10, respectively.

Jackson Hole Half Marathon

The Jackson Hole Half Marathon, which follows an iconic 13.1 mile course along the foot of the Tetons from Teton Village to Downtown Jackson, will take place on June 10.

Wrun for Wray

On June 24, this roughly three mile uphill run at Grand Targhee starts at the base of the Dreamcatcher chairlift and climbs 1840 feet to the top of Fred’s Mountain.

Teton Mountain Runs

The Teton Mountain Runs will take place from July 15 to 16 in Teton Village. It includes the following events: Cody Peak 50K, Cirque 30K and Wild 15K.

Rendezvous Mountain Hill Climb

The most demanding hill climb running event in the West returns for another year at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort on Aug. 5.

Arts

Plein Air Fest

On June 17, nearly 40 invited artists will be given the day to create new masterpieces en plein air (outside). They paint from the National Museum of Wildlife Art’s Sculpture Trail with stupendous views overlooking the National Elk Refuge.

Art Fair Jackson Hole

This quintessential Jackson Hole summer event returns for its 58th year on the weekends of July 22 and Aug. 18. Artists and exhibitors are selected through a blind jury process and invited to present their work to thousands of patrons over an extended weekend, Friday through Sunday.

Food and Dining

Summer People’s Market on The Center Lawn

Slow Food in the Teton’s Summer People’s Market will be held each Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. beginning June 7 through Sept. 27. The market serves as a gathering space for the community to celebrate local and regional, good, clean and fair food.

Jackson Hole Food & Wine Summer Festival

Jackson Hole Food and Wine Summer Festival will take place from June 22 to 24. The event includes Taste of Jackson Hole, two dinner series and Savor.

Farmers Market on the Square

The Farmers Market on the Square will take place every Saturday morning from July 1 to Sept. 30. The event takes place on Jackson’s Town Square. The market features quality local and regionally grown fruits and vegetables, free live music and homemade baked goods.
