JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Juicy tidbits continue to trickle in from Yeezy’s listening party last night at Diamond Cross Ranch in Moran.
First, Kanye’s West divulged the name of his new 7-song release. It is titled, simply, Ye. The ‘album’ cover artwork is a last-minute shot of the Tetons snapped as West drove north to the affair last night.
Locals in the service industry tended to the transport, feeding, and general wellbeing of the group. Most had signed nondisclosure agreements for the event.
West made the rounds in an apparent jovial mood. A few hundred guests enjoyed booze and barbeque before gathering around a campfire outside to hear Ye blasted on a massive sound system.
Chris Rock first gave a toast. “It’s great to be out here in Wyoming. I saw a moose! I touched a moose…” he joked.
The new release was played twice through to mixed reviews.
The invite list included music industry types—radio execs, DJs, reporters for entertainment publications—most of whom were awed by the Jackson Hole experience.
One Variety reporter stated, “It’s absolutely breathtaking—mountains and trees as far as the eye can see.”
Rolling Stone wrote: “This sparsely populated, relentlessly scenic part of Wyoming has served frequently as West’s creative sanctuary since the release of The Life of Pablo in 2016.”
Hollywood Reporter was less enthralled, writing, “The camera panned to reveal some grazing livestock, and a picturesque mountain range. Not exactly riveting stuff unless that’s your thing. Another stack later appeared. Momentum was gathering, at a snail’s pace. A couple logs on the fire.”
One reporter asked two cops (probably Jackson Hole Security detail) whether parties like this were normal for the ranch.
“They aren’t unusual. Lots of celebrities have homes in Jackson Hole,’ the officer reportedly answered. “But this is at a little bit of a different level.”
