JACKSON, Wyo. — Another brush with winter weather is on tap for the mountains today.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory early Thursday morning for the Teton, Gros Ventre, Salt River and Wyoming mountain ranges, in effect until 5 p.m. Snow is expected to the tune of 6 to 12 inches at elevations above 8,500 feet, and 4 to 8 inches elsewhere.
On the valley floor, that could translate to about an inch of new snow accumulation, per the Jackson forecast. Driving over the mountain passes is expected to be challenging in these conditions.
