JACKSON, Wyo. — This Friday night, the community is invited to participate in a discussion about the future of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem’s (GYE) climate.

The Teton Resilience Network (newly created by the merging of the Riverwind Foundation and the JH Climate Action Collective) will host University of Wyoming (UW) climate scientist Dr. Bryan Shuman in a conversation with Indigenous Youth Voices for Conservation at the Teton Science Schools’ Jackson campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Shuman works with the Wyoming Anticipating Climate-Water Transitions (WyACT) team at UW and specializes in paleohydrology, paleoclimatology and paleoecology. He served as co-leader of the 2021 Greater Yellowstone Climate Assessment, and he has spoken in Jackson about snowpack and climate before.

The event will begin promptly at 7 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to allow time to walk to the North Ed. Center on the TSS campus. Expect a raffle!

Earlier on Friday, local students will have the chance to interact with Shuman as part of the 2026 Youth Climate Futures Summit Agenda, which will also include student sustainability presentations and an information fair with local climate-focused nonprofits.
