JACKSON, Wyo. — The public is invited to join Jackson Hole Fire/EMS, Teton County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson Police Department on Thursday, Sept. 11, to honor the victims of 9/11.

The morning memorial event on Town Square will begin at 8 a.m. Opening remarks will be made by the JH Fire/EMS Chaplain Ben Nardi, and a tribute will be given by Deputy Chief Brian Coe. There will also be a moment of silence to recognize the time that the first tower was hit, Coe told Buckrail.

Per a JH Fire/EMS Facebook announcement, the Hill Climb for the Fallen will take place between 3:43 and 7 p.m. The symbolic start time of 3:43 p.m. is in honor of the 343 firefighters, 23 police officers and 37 Port Authority officers who gave their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. All are welcome to participate in the Snow King hill climb, which represents the 110 stories of the Twin Towers.

All participants of the Hill Climb for the Fallen will receive a T-shirt, and dog participants will receive a bandana. There will be a barbecue for participants after the hike.

JH Fire/EMS concluded the Facebook post with: “Never forget.”
