ALPINE, Wyo. — The Town of Alpine is warning residents of scams taking place where fake invoices are being sent to individuals and businesses, claiming to be from the Town of Alpine Planning and Zoning Commission.

In a Monday Facebook post, the Town of Alpine shared a copy of what the emails and documents look like.

“Town of Alpine will never ask you to wire money,” the post reads. “If you receive an email or document like the one shown — requesting a wire transfer or payment — do not send any money or personal information.”

The post continues, saying that all official emails from the Town of Alpine will end in “@alpinewy.gov.” If an email received does not contain this domain, it is not official correspondance.

Members of the community are encouraged to verify any payment requests directly with Town Hall by calling (307) 654-7757 or emailing planning@alpinewy.gov.
