JACKSON HOLE, WYO \u2013After successfully serving the Art Association of Jackson Hole as a Studio Manager, Interim Executive Director, and for two years as Executive Director, Mark Nowlin announced that he will step down from his position this January. \u201cAfter much introspection and love for the Art Association and conversation with the Board, I realize my time here needs to segue out so that the Art Association\u2019s future continues to prosper,\u201d Nowlin said in a prepared statement. Board Chair Katrina Ryan praised Nowlin\u2019s leadership. \u201cMark was a kind, stabilizing force during times of significant transition at the Art Association and the Board is grateful for the incredible work he has done,\u201d Ryan said. \u201cBecause of the groundwork that Mark has laid, the organization is well poised to continue providing exceptional art education to our community and to achieve more growth and success in the near future.\u201d Executive Director Nowlin revitalized the 55-year-old organization, which has grown to provide more than 275 classes and 360 outreach sessions to community members each year. Nowlin\u2019s many accomplishments include opening the Art Association\u2019s Art Supply Store to meet the needs of our artistic community, assembling a strong creative staff, and laying the groundwork for exciting collaborations with regional and national art institutions. Nowlin has also served as an outstanding community ambassador for the arts, nurturing collaboration among local arts members and organizations, and strengthening relationships. In recognition of Nowlin\u2019s contributions to the Art Association, a Celebration Party will be held on Friday, February 8 from 5-7pm in conjunction with the Opening of the upcoming members\u2019 exhibition \u201cSmall Works.\u201d The entire community is invited to join the event as the Art Association honors Nowlin for his outstanding service and achievements. The Art Association Board will take the month of January to assess the Executive Director role before opening the position.
