DRIGGS, Idaho — Even without much snow on the ground, the 14th Annual Snowscapes event in Driggs was still a wintery wonderland.
Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer dropped by to check out the entries.

To make up for the paltry contributions from Mother Nature, the Downtown Driggs Association acquired a snowmaking machine.
That newly made snow went to good use in this year’s sculptures, which were created by teams from local businesses as well as out-of-staters.

First place honors went to “Cold Steel and the Wild, Unrepentant” featuring “Bison Beauregard Slim at his forge” by Team NewWest Knifeworks.
Second place went to “Snow Boundaries” (featuring an astronaut) by Team ART Club Hub from Michigan and Florida.
Third and fourth place honors went to two Teton Valley teams: Third went to “Betta Days Ahead” (featuring the betta fish) by Team Winter Storm Warning, and fourth went to Team Frostbite for “Origami Safari.”

Entrants were judged on such criteria as creativity, composition, expression of meaning, expression of emotion, texture, detail, negative space and finish, according to the Downtown Driggs Association.

‘Til next year, Snowscapes!
