JACKSON, Wyo. — Wow, what a summer of music!
On Wednesday night, the curtain closed on Snow King’s fourth season of hosting acts at its concert venue when Rainbow Kitten Surprise played to a sold-out crowd. The smokey haze created ideal mountain sunset conditions across the valley.

Over the course of 15 events at the top of Snow King Mountain since June, at least 31 world-class musicians and groups played their hearts out from the summit stage. Audiences have braved heat, rain, wildfire smoke, hail, thunder and lightning to listen to their favorite bands at 7,800 feet above sea level.
Rainbow Kitten Surprise, or RKS as it is affectionately known by its fans, is an alternative rock band that came out with its first album in 2013.
The band seems to channel “another dimension where genres simply don’t exist,” Snow King wrote on its website. “Rainbow Kitten Surprise finds harmony in unpredictability – weaving together lyrical poetry, hummable melodies and a rush of instrumental eccentricities.”
