JACKSON, Wyo. — Until next year, hockey season!
The Jackson Hole Moose closed out their 29th season on Saturday night, besting the Vermont Flex on home ice. The Moose finished the 14-weekend season with 16 wins and 12 losses.

Moose Captain Alex Dewitz, who is approaching his 10th season with the club, said he’ll look back on this season and remember an extra-special feeling of camaraderie on the team.
“This group of guys was amazing,” Dewitz told Buckrail. “Everyone got along. It was a well-oiled machine. There are so many characters on the team that make it fun.”
In honor of the season’s winning finale, a group of enthusiastic fans standing along the glass near the scoreboard constructed a pyramid out of spent beer cans.
Intricate construction required one person to hoist another onto their shoulders for better access. A few structural flaws led to some light re-engineering, but at one point the tower was 11 tiers high.
“That’s the biggest one I’ve seen,” Dewitz said of the tower.
Dewitz joined newly appointed alternate captain Jake Leitner in gleefully smashing into the glass at the end of the game, sending the cans tumbling.
