TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — On Tuesday, Feb. 11, the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) hosted the sixth year of its iconic Kings & Queens of Corbet’s Couloir competition.

Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer was there to capture the incredible sends down the mountain.

According to JHMR, the Corbet’s Couloir competition brings together Olympians, X Games winners and Freeride World Tour champions to “redefine what’s possible on snow.” The roster included 24 athletes competing for the titles of King and Queen of Corbet’s.

Unfortunately, not everyone made it out of the couloir unscathed. Sulzer captured the rescue of an injured participant who was unable to complete the course. According to the JHMR website, Corbet’s Couloir has a 20-foot drop and 50-degree pitch, one of the steepest ski slopes in North America that tests even the best skier and snowboarder limits.

Awards voting will take place on Friday, Feb. 14, with coronation on Saturday, Feb. 15. Watch the full replay here.
