JACKSON, Wyo. — Local humans aren’t alone in enjoying glorious springtime sunshine this week. Avian residents are also soaking up some rays.
Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer caught a glimpse of another great gray owl in the area. This owl is getting a big dose of Vitamin D.

According to the National Park Service, the great gray owl is the tallest owl in North America, and it sports the longest wingspan. Males hunt voles and other small rodents during daylight hours, making them easier to spot than some other species of owl.
