JACKSON, Wyo. — Quiznos in Jackson announced on Wednesday that it will be closing up shop for good at the end of this month.

Franchise owner Bobby Thomson told Buckrail that it is the end of an industry standard 10-year corporate franchise agreement. A Facebook post announcing the closure stated that the restaurant’s last day of service will be Monday, Oct. 27, and it will close at 8 p.m.

Quiznos has been operating in town for 22 years, with Thomson at the helm for just over 10 years. He has been the longest tenant in the space and the longest owner of the Jackson franchise.

“This community has been incredibly supportive, and I’m so grateful for everyone who’s shared a meal with us over the years,” Thomson said via text message. “October 27 will be a day to celebrate everything we’ve built here: the team, the guests and all the memories inside those walls.”

Thomson said he has sold all of the equipment and assets to a restaurateur who plans to open a new business in the space. He is happy to see new energy coming into the community.

The decision to not renew the Quiznos franchise will free up Thomson’s time and resources as he looks to revive his spring water venture based in northern Wyoming, which has been in the works since June.

From Thomson’s perspective, the restaurant industry has gone through a lot of change since the Covid-19 pandemic, including food costs, labor costs and rent. He is looking forward to redirecting his focus.

“I can’t say enough about the incredible team that’s been with me,” Thomson said. “They’ve carried the heart and soul of this place. I’ll always be proud of what we accomplished together. This town means a lot to me.”
