JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Assessor Melissa Shinkle announced on Wednesday, Oct. 2 that applications for the Long-Term Homeowners Exemption (HB03) are now available online or at the assessor’s office located in the County Administration Building at 200 S. Willow St.

With the approval of House Bill 3, long-term homeowners will receive a 50% assessed value exemption on the primary residential structure and up to 35 acres of land, according to Teton County.

Primary residence homeowners (or their spouses) must be age 65 or over, have paid Wyoming property taxes for 25 years or more and occupy the residence for at least eight months out of the year to be eligible. The exemptions will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2025, and last until July of 2027.

Applicants must provide their residential address and county and proof of age using a Wyoming driver’s license, Wyoming ID card, passport or birth certificate.
