PINEDALE, Wyo. — The governor-appointed Sublette antelope migration working group will convene in Pinedale at its first meeting in February to discuss the future of the pronghorn migration corridor.
The group will meet on Monday, Feb. 2, at the BOCES Board Room at 665 North Tyler Ave. in Pinedale from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The first meeting will go over Governor Mark Gordon’s expectations and the functions of the executive order that created the group. Members will then hear from four Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) employees to gain understanding about the pronghorn herd and its migratory behavior.
The working group was announced in mid-December 2025 as the result of Gordon’s Executive Order 2020-1. Seven members have been appointed to represent industry stakeholders, and three of four county representatives have been selected so far. According to the executive order, one representative must be appointed from each county affected: Lincoln, Sublette, Sweetwater and Teton.
The announcement for the February meeting states that the representative from Teton County has not yet been named. Communication Director for the governor, Amy Edmonds, confirmed to Buckrail that the final member of the working group will be announced before the meeting.
“The local working group is ultimately charged with reviewing the Game and Fish’s risk assessment, corridor components, potential impacts to socio-economic conditions of the region, conservation opportunities, highway projects, and other factors appropriate to the potential designation,” reads the meeting announcement.
After the working group’s analysis, a final recommendation will be made to Gordon on whether to designate the migration corridor, return the recommendation to WGFD for refinement or reject the designation proposal.
