TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — A winter weather advisory for the Jackson Hole valley and mountains brought snow and high winds overnight. Some chairlifts at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) opened late in the morning on Tuesday, and some were still on hold midway through the day.

The Sweetwater Gondola, Marmot Double and Sublette Quad lifts were still paused due to high winds at noon. Earlier in the morning, the Aerial Tram was also on hold, but has since reopened. Mountain Weather was reporting 33 mph winds at the JHMR summit during midday.

According to MesoWest, the JHMR summit saw a high sustained wind speed of 48 mph around 9:45 a.m. and wind gusts topping out at 65 mph around 10 a.m. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a winter weather advisory on Monday from 11 p.m. until Tuesday at 5 p.m., which called for strong winds and gusts picking up around 4 a.m.
