STAR VALLEY, WYO – A man wanted in connection with the burglary of Our Pharmacy in Thayne in early February has been arrested by Cedar City Police in Utah after he allegedly went on a crime spree rampage on April 5. The Iron County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Talon Sessions, 28, on several counts including an outstanding warrant from Lincoln County on suspicion of burglary.
How cops got him
Cedar City Police Department received a call at around 9:16pm on April 5 from the local high school about a possible criminal mischief in progress. A witness reported hearing someone inside the school smashing and breaking things. Officers arrived and set up containment after noticing a shattered exterior window.
High School officials responded. Officers cleared the school but did not find a suspect. Video surveillance from inside the school showed a single, white male suspect who appeared to be carrying a handgun. It also showed him firing the gun inside the school and evidence showed he had fired into two windows. Additionally, the suspect fired into the locking mechanism of an interior door.
A short time later, officers were notified of a carjacking in progress. This suspect matched the description of the man observed inside the school. Officers responded to that area and found the armed suspect had entered an unlocked home and was confronted by the homeowner. At gunpoint, the suspect stole keys from the victim and started leaving in the victim’s vehicle. He abandoned the vehicle a short distance away and fled on foot.
The suspect entered one other home and took a bottle of orange juice from the fridge then left.
There were at least four other attempts to enter homes and cars, as residents reported hearing someone trying to enter their homes and vehicles in the area were found with the doors open.
Officers from all over Iron County responded to assist. There were officers from the Cedar City Police Department, Enoch City Police Department, Iron County Sheriff’s Department, Parowan City Police Department, SUU Public Safety and the Utah Highway Patrol.
The suspect was ultimately located and arrested in the area of 400 E Hillside Place. He was taken to the hospital for a medical clearance and later booked into the Iron County Jail.
Sessions reportedly fled Wyoming with an unknown woman whom he later abandoned. The Wyoming man was booked on two counts of Criminal Trespass, two counts of Discharge of Firearms, one count of Criminal Mischief, one count of Aggravated Robbery, two counts of Theft of Firearm or Operable Vehicle, one count of Burglary, one count of Aggravated Burglary, and one count of Fugitive from Justice.
Sessions has been on the lam since the Star Valley pharmacy robbery. His alleged partner in that crime, Rowdy Ford, 18, of Fairview, Wyo., was arrested last month.
