JACKSON, Wyo. — The first phase of construction of the Teton County Justice Center project is scheduled to begin today with the demolition of the Hansen Courthouse on East Simpson Ave.

Crews with GE Johnson/DPR Construction were planning to begin the demolition on Tuesday, per a Teton County press release. The deconstruction work is anticipated to be complete in mid-March. The Teton County Courthouse will be demolished next.

“Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible and follow construction signs, detours and parking notices intended to maintain safety for the public and work crews,” the county wrote in the statement.

Flaggers will be on site to direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic during operating hours, which will be Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Construction trucks will be present, entering and exiting the job site at 145 East Simpson Ave.

“The Teton County Justice Center project represents a once-in-a generation investment in public safety and supports the County’s commitment to accessible, efficient, and secure justice services,” the county said.

Groundbreaking for the new Justice Center is expected to take place this summer, with completion expected in the fall of 2028.
