WYOMING — Another candidate has emerged in the race to fill Rep. Harriet Hageman’s seat.

Former State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Balow announced her campaign to be Wyoming’s sole delegate in the U.S. House of Representatives. On her website, she identifies as a fifth-generation Wyomingite, mom, educator and conservative leader. She also served as the State Superintendent of Public Instruction in Virginia. She emphasizes parental rights in her approach to governing education.

“Jillian is a problem-solver who believes in keeping America First, protecting Wyoming energy jobs, making Wyoming more affordable, safeguarding our military assets and public lands, and defending the rights and freedoms of parents, students, and all Wyomingites,” her website states. “She stands with President Donald Trump, Congresswoman Harriet Hageman, Senator John Barrasso and Senator Cynthia Lummis in fighting back against Washington overreach and one-size-fits-all mandates that don’t work for Wyoming.”

Balow will vie for the seat left open by Hageman as she runs for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Lummis. Also running for Hageman’s seat is current Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray and entrepreneur Reid Rasner.
