MOOSE, Wyo. — Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) announced Tuesday that the National Park Service had selected two companies to provide guided mountain climbing, climbing instruction and ski mountaineering services within the park.

Exum Guide Service and School of Mountaineering, Inc., will each sign onto 10-year contracts that begin on Jan. 1. Both companies have already been providing these services for GTNP, operating under contracts that began in 2014. The park says the public will not detect any interruption in service.

GTNP said Exum Guide Service will be known as Exum Mountain Guides when operating inside the park; the Mountain Guides, Inc., will do business as Jackson Hole Mountain Guides.

“Exum and Jackson Hole Mountain Guides have provided visitors with exceptional mountain climbing and guide services in the park for years and we look forward to continuing this long-standing tradition for another decade,” GTNP Superintendent Chip Jenkins said via press release.

According to GTNP, 26 concessioners and approximately 160 commercial use authorization holders currently provide a variety of visitor services in the park. GTNP put out a call for prospectuses for these services in July.
