KELLY, Wyo. — Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) has invited the public to an open house next week regarding potential workforce housing in Kelly.

GTNP announced that it is considering “whether a small, community-scaled housing concept on park-owned land in Kelly” would be a feasible way to strengthen housing stability for park employees. This could entail a “small number of single-story homes on a previously disturbed park-owned site,” per the park.

The open house would be part of an “early community listening phase,” a way to gather informal feedback and share information on such factors as long-term workforce housing needs and wildlife/natural resource protection measures. Park staff will be on hand to answer questions. Attendees will be able to browse informational displays and to submit written comments.

“We are in the early stages of evaluating options that support long-term workforce stability,” Superintendent Chip Jenkins said in the announcement. “This open house is an opportunity to share information, listen to community perspectives, and better understand considerations before determining next steps.”

The open house will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 16, at Kelly Elementary. Public comments can be submitted on the National Park Service Planning, Environment and Public Comment website from March 16 through March 30.
