JACKSON, Wyo. — Gone are the days of waiting years between women’s snow film tours, thanks to a new film tour hitting the screens this fall. The creative team behind 2023’s standout all-women ski film Advice for Girls is excited to bring the snowsports community a new offering this fall: the Girl Winter Film Tour.
Following the wild success of their first feature-length film last fall, the team is back in action with a night full of brand-new, high-quality women’s ski and snowboard short films – an event that you won’t want to miss.
The Girl Winter Film Tour, presented by Stio, hits theaters nationwide following its world premiere in Jackson, Wyoming, on Oct. 26. Before the show from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., come stop by Stio’s Jackson Mountain Studio to meet the athletes, get a poster signed and check out the new winter gear!
What’s up with the name? Ever heard of “Girl Dinner”? Filled with yummy small bites and your favorite snacks, the Girl Winter team wanted this film tour’s selections to reflect the creative dinners that girls love so much – short films that have range. These stories will fill you up with rad skiing, deep storytelling and good humor – just like your favorite mix of food for “girl dinner.”
The events will showcase 6+ films from within the Advice For Girls collective, as well as a few from the broader creative community. Each night will culminate with a Q+A with the athletes and filmmakers who brought the films to life. The Girl Winter team hopes these screenings will provide a space to continue the celebration of women in snow sports. All are welcome!
The line-up includes films featuring Olympians and Pro Skiers: Devin Logan, Caroline Claire, Amie Engerbretson, Jac Pollard, Sierra Schlag and Erin Spong. Additional films joining the tour will be announced soon, boosting the already star-studded cast of women.
“The film tour not only highlights the talents and creativity of these athletes and filmmakers, but also the unique perspective they bring to the sport.”
