WYOMING — Know a legendary outdoors expert?
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) is accepting nominations for the 2026 Wyoming Outdoor Hall of Fame, an honor it offers every 18 months to recognize individuals who made significant, lasting, lifetime contributions to conserving the state’s outdoor heritage. Nominations are open through March 31. Posthumous nominations are allowed.
“Being inducted into the Wyoming Outdoor Hall of Fame is the highest recognition for a lifetime of outstanding contributions to conservation,” WGFD Director Angi Bruce said in a statement. “We are excited to see the nominations for our 2026 inductees and encourage everyone to help us find and honor those individuals who have dedicated their lives to preserving Wyoming’s outdoor heritage.”
Eligible nominees can be employees or volunteers in areas including but not limited to:
- Environmental law enforcement
- Applied resource management
- Conservation education
- Conservation policy formation, legislation and public leadership
- Conservation-oriented research
- Conservation literature, art or journalism
