UNITED STATES — The Department of the Interior will observe the four-year anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) by waiving entrance fees on Department-managed public lands on Sunday, Aug. 4.
This means visitors can enter national parks free of charge on Sunday. Other fees remain in effect, such as those for overnight camping.
The GAOA was signed on Aug. 4, 2020 to help fund projects to improve public lands. According to its project website, GAOA-funded projects at Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park are budgeted at a combined $431.4 million. Learn more about GAOA-funded projects here.
Fees will be waived in national parks on two more days in 2024: Sept. 28 for National Public Lands Day and Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.
