JACKSON, Wyo. — Fans of the Knight Owl book series will have the chance to meet author Christopher Denise at the Teton County Library next week. He will also be visiting a few local classrooms.

Denise illustrated more than 20 children’s books before becoming an author himself with Knight Owl in 2022. The book follows a clever owl living in the Middle Ages that dreams of becoming a knight despite his diminutive stature. It won the American Library Association’s prestigious Caldecott Honor, among other accolades.

“We like to introduce kids to authors with strong visual senses through our Author in the Schools program,” Youth Program Coordinator Beth Holmes stated in the event announcement. “His presentations include a portion about the creative process, which really helps kids understand how ideas turn into books. Families who attend the library presentation may have a new appreciation for picture books afterwards.”

See Denise in the library’s youth auditorium at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
