UPDATE 7:30 a.m.: In a press release issued at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 23, Idaho Fish and Game reported that the one-year old female black bear cub seen in Victor was shot with a sedative dart but did not survive the anesthesia. Idaho Fish and Game cited poor physical condition and emaciation for the reason the bear was unable to recover.

VICTOR, Idaho – Teton County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) has received a call about a lone grizzly cub in a tree near Sherman Park around 11 a.m.

According to TCSO, Fish & Game are currently on site. Victor Elementary has been notified and are taking appropriate precautions.

At this time, the mother of the cub has not been spotted.
