JACKSON, Wyo. — Bighorn Wilderness Tours is pleased to announce an exciting new offering in its portfolio of private and exclusive wildlife photography trips. In collaboration with Wildlife Expeditions and Teton Science Schools, Bighorn Wilderness Tours now offers guests the opportunity to explore Yellowstone National Park through the South Entrance with trips originating in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Based in Livingston, Montana, Bighorn Wilderness Tours offers trips from Yellowstone’s North Entrance in Gardiner, Montana, to the Northeast Entrance, covering areas of the park that generally remain open year-round, including the Lamar Valley. However, with many roads in Yellowstone closing in October through the spring thaw, much of the park is closed for a significant part of the year.

Although these colder months offer unparalleled natural beauty and fewer crowds, much of Yellowstone is inaccessible to vehicles that are not park-approved snowcoaches. Now, working with Wildlife Expeditions and Teton Science Schools in Jackson, Wyoming, Bighorn Wilderness Tours offers guided wildlife photography trips that start in Jackson, pass through Grand Teton National Park, and enter Yellowstone through the South Entrance of the park.

Bighorn Wilderness Tours prides itself on offering specialized, customizable, private trips. On these trips, guests comfortably access Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks in an overland modified Range Rover or a similarly customized Land Rover Discovery. By collaborating with Wildlife Expeditions, Bighorn Wilderness Tours can now also offer snowcoach trips in Mercedes Sprinter vans that are modified for snow travel, as well as a safari like experience that ensures guests can experience high standards of vehicles with all of their trip options.

“For many photographers, there’s no better time to explore Yellowstone than in the winter,” says Tim Harden, owner of Bighorn Wilderness Tours as well as a photographer and guide. “And Jackson Hole and the Tetons couldn’t be a more beautiful place to start and end trips. Add in exclusive access to the parks, and photographers can have extraordinary experiences in this region of the Northern Rockies.”

Snowcoach trips operate from mid-December to mid-March, weather permitting. Teton Science Schools is the official educational partner of Grand Teton National Park and has been operating since 1999. Bighorn Wilderness Tours is a member of 1% for the Planet and contributes a portion of revenue from all trips to grassroots environmental organizations.
