JACKSON, Wyo. — Keep those shovels handy.

Another winter weather advisory is in effect from 11 p.m. tonight until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, per the National Weather Service. Snow is expected in Jackson Hole and Star Valley, with total accumulations of between 3 and 5 inches expected on the valley floor. In the Teton and Gros Ventre ranges, up to a foot of snow is expected. Up in Yellowstone National Park, accumulations could reach 8 inches, with up to 12 inches possible for the Pitchstone Plateau (in the park’s southwestern corner).

Travel over the mountain passes is expected to be challenging, as Teton and Togwotee Passes could get as much as 9 inches of snow. Slow down and exercise caution when driving.

New snow has lead to considerable avalanche danger, according to the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center. Making conservative choices in the backcountry is advised.
