JACKSON, Wyo. — Absentee voting for the primary election in Teton County begins Tuesday, July 23.

Teton County residents will have a chance to vote absentee either by mail or in person.

Absentee ballots for the primary election will be sent out by mail to voters who request them on Tuesday, July 23. For those wishing to vote early in person, the Early In-Person Vote Center, located at the County Clerk’s Office at 200 S Willow St., will be open from July 23 through August 19 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To request an absentee ballot, contact the County Clerk.

It should be noted that early absentee voting window is shorter this year, down to 28 days from 45 days in previous years.

Those needing to register to vote can do so at the County Clerk’s Office from 8 a.m. to 5p.m. on weekdays. People can register in advance up until Monday, August 5. After this point, from August 6 through August 19, those registering must also vote on that day.

Due to recent voter purging, people who have already registered should check to make sure they are still registered to vote.

As of July 1, 2021, voters in Wyoming are required to show an acceptable form of ID when voting in person. Acceptable IDs include a Wyoming driver’s license or ID card, tribal ID cards, a U.S. Passport, a U.S. military card, a valid Wyoming concealed firearm permit, a DL or ID card from another state, a student ID card or a valid medicare or medicaid insurance card. Free Wyoming ID cards can be obtained from a local Driver Services office.

Monday, August 19 is the last day to vote early. The primary election will be held on Tuesday, August 20.
