JACKSON, Wyo. — Rep. Mike Yin announced today he will run for reelection as Teton County’s representative for House District 16.

“I cannot thank this community enough for choosing me to be our State Representative in Cheyenne,” Yin wrote in his announcement made on Facebook this morning. “Serving you these last two years, while at times can be very challenging, has been incredibly fulfilling.”

Yin was elected in 2018 and has served one term. He served on the committees of the House Journal committee, Labor, Health & Social Services committee, Travel, Recreation, Wildlife & Cultural Resources, a select committee on Blockchain, Financial Technology and Digital Innovation Technology, and a select committee on Legislative Facilities, Technology and Process. He sponsored four bills in the 2020 session: privacy protection, pharmacists prescribing contraceptives, an optional unoccupied home fee, and increased minimum wage.

“Wyoming, like the rest of the country, is going through a pandemic, but it is also coupled with a crisis of what the future of Wyoming will look like.We need to make sure that we have our voices heard to determine that future,” Yin said.

Rep. Andy Schwartz also announced his reelection run today.
