WYOMING – Wyoming author, columnist, and businessman Bill Sniffin has been enlisted by gubernatorial candidate Foster Friess to help with his campaign.

Friess calls Sniffin “Mr. Wyoming” because of Sniffin’s efforts to promote Wyoming through his books and his weekly column.

Sniffin is a former Lander newspaper publisher. His weekly column appears in newspapers across the state. Most recently he published three large-format coffee table books highlighting Wyoming’s natural beauty and special place in the American West.

“I know Foster well, and he is the real deal,” Sniffin said. “His willingness to serve creates an opportunity for Wyoming to have a governor whose legendary investing and worldwide philanthropic efforts can open the doors for Wyoming businesses and bring new high-paying jobs.”

Sniffin knows the campaign trail. He ran for governor in 2002 as a Republican, coming in third in the primary.

Sniffin and his wife Nancy have known Foster and Lynn Friess for more than 18 years.

The Sniffins have owned all or part of many different media entities over the past 48 years, including newspapers in Lander, Cody, Greybull, Green River, Yellowstone Park, Bridger Valley, the Wind River Reservation and Dubois. In 2004, he founded and operated the Wyoming Inc. Advertising Agency, which Sniffen sold in 2011.

Conservative businessman and philanthropist Friess said, “I’m excited to harness Bill Sniffin’s knowledge and extensive statewide network.”
