Victor Elementary School to close for next three days

VICTOR, Idaho. — Following a string of both student and faculty absences, Victor Elementary School will close for the next three days, announced Teton School District (TSD) No. 401 today.

Seven staff members and 60 students are currently absent from the school, making it difficult for the school to adequately maintain operations, said TSD No. 401 in a message to parents this afternoon.

COVID-19 has wreaked havoc across Idaho as of late, but Superintendent Monte Woolstenhulme insisted that the virus is not the sole reason for the three-day closure.

“Not all staff and/or student absences are due to COVID-19,” said Woolstenhulme. “We have other illnesses with verified negatives for COVID-19 that are impacting our numbers.”
