Teton Pass scheduled for closure early morning tomorrow

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The Wyoming Department of Transportation has scheduled a closure of Teton Pass for tomorrow, Wednesday, December 19, at 3:00am for avalanche control.

The closure means no overnight parking at the summit of Teton Pass and Coal Creek will be strictly enforced. Highway travelers and backcountry users are advised to plan accordingly.

Inclement weather is on the way tonight. Reduced visibility, winter driving conditions, and increasing avalanche hazard may force an earlier closure, according to Brenden Cronin, Jackson avalanche technician.
