Teton Park Road open to non-motorized use, snow dependent

JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton Park Road is open to non-motorized activities, and you can bring your dog. Biking, hiking, running, rollerblading, scooters, and walking dogs are all options for the Teton Park Road, free from all of that summer traffic until the road becomes snow-covered. The road will be groomed for skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking from mid-December to mid-March.

The road is closed to non-motorized vehicles from Nov. 1 until April 30, from Taggart Lake Trailhead to Signal Mountain Lodge. Pets are also allowed on the road and once its snow-covered leashed pets can use the multi-use lane. After the road is snow-covered, bikes, snow bikes, fat-tire bikes, and roller blades are not allowed on the Teton Park Road.

Moose-Wilson Road also closed on Nov. 1, from Death Canyon Road to Granite Canyon Trailhead, and will remain unplowed. The road is open to skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking.

Other roads such as Antelope Flats, Deadmans Bar, Grassy Lake, Pilgrim Creek, Schwabacher, and Two Ocean are closed seasonally based on conditions.

Paved multi-use pathways throughout the park are open whenever predominately free of snow and ice. The use of the multi-use pathway is prohibited at night, specifically from 1/2 hour after sunset to 1/2 hour before sunrise.

All park visitors should respect road closures and look for signs posted near the road regarding any recreational use or access.  For information on park roads call 307.739.3682 or visit the GTNP website.
