JACKSON HOLE, WYO \u2013 A skier-triggered avalanche out of bounds yesterday at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort resulted in an injury and medical evacuation.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe slide occurred in Spacewalk Couloir, just beyond the resort boundary through backcountry Gate 2. Powder Project called the run a steep 45+ degree chute with a choke halfway down. \u201cIt is an avalanche prone area with high consequence fall potential,\u201d Powder Project states.\r\n\r\nA skier, who has not yet been named, triggered the slide at about 3:45pm. The skier was not buried but swept the entire length of the sidecountry chute and well into the apron. The skier was not buried but suffered a dislocated hip.\r\n\r\nThe avalanche was about 32 inches in depth. It released at an elevation about 9,649\u2019 on a slope angle around 36-40 degrees.
