TETON VALLEY, IDA \u2013 The Teton School District 401 Board of Trustees has scheduled a working session for Tuesday, July 16, at 6 pm at Driggs Elementary to specifically address the Teton High School mascot. During its regularly scheduled meeting on July 8, the board listened to four hours of public comment and then discussed the issue for nearly another two hours before coming to a consensus that they would need an additional meeting before coming to any decision. Board members Mary Mello and Ben Kearsley are working together on the format and schedule for that night\u2019s meeting. They have established a few goals for the conversation, expected to include small-group work and brainstorming: \tTo listen and encourage dialogue with one another, in a less formal setting than a regular board meeting \tTo allow and encourage the public to bring forth ideas to move forward in a positive direction regarding the mascot\/symbol Superintendent Monte Woolstenhulme is making sure that all board members receive copies of public comment thus far, and that posting an action item on the work-session agenda allows a decision that night. The board also scheduled a special meeting for Monday, July 15 at 10 am in the District Office to meet with Headwaters Construction regarding the Guaranteed Maximum Price for the renovations to Teton Middle School.
