JACKSON, Wyo.\u2014 Join Jackson Hole Public Art as they celebrate the 4th annual PARK(ing) Day on Friday, September 20th from 10 a.m.\u20135 p.m. in downtown Jackson. PARKing Day is a worldwide event where artists, designers, and citizens transform parking spots into temporary public parks. PARKing Day invites the public to imagine creative uses for parking spaces and highlights the inspiring work of local designers and artists to increase pedestrian vitality in downtown.\r\n\r\nNew this year, through a grant from the American Association of Retired People (AARP) and the Wyoming Business Council, JH Public Art has teamed up with the Pathways Department to create an Age-Friendly pedestrian mall on Center Street. Seniors will be treated to free art-making activities, free haircuts, and coupons for ice-cream and candy, street games, Trishaw bike ride demonstrations and dedicated Trishaw parking, and Rock Sage Living rocking chair lounge. Participants will be asked to share ideas about how our community can make downtown Jackson friendly for people of all ages and abilities.\r\n\r\nThis year\u2019s PARKing Day participants include:\r\n\r\n \tFrances Ritchie, Perspective on Small Beings\r\n \tNOSO Patches, Demo Circuit\r\n \tJenny Dowd, Jeny\u2019s Flower Cart\r\n \tCLB Architects and KWC with Willow Creek Woodwork, Inc, Get Out \/ Get In\r\n \tJackson Hole Land Trust, Wild. Open. Connected: Completing the Conservation Puzzle\r\n \tJH Public Art & The Center, Public Piano\r\n \tGYDE Architects & New West Building Company, Urban Canopy\r\n \tJackson \/ Teton County Planning Departments, Planning This Place\r\n \tIsabel Rucker, Park n\u2019 Gaze\r\n \tBland Hoke & KHOL, Sound Lounge, powered by Energy Conversation Works\r\n\r\nPARKing Day participants receive a $250 stipend for supplies to build an installation. This year\u2019s event is sponsored by the Wyoming Business Council, the Wyoming Arts Council, AARP, Teton County Pathways, Cycling Without Age, and St. John's Hospital Foundation.\r\n\r\nPARKing Day is free and open for all to experience. PARKing Day maps will be available at each location and can be picked up from the JH Public Art Information tent on Center Street.
