Snowmobiler killed in crash, another buried in slide
JACKSON HOLE, WYO – A man visiting Jackson Hole died last weekend when he crashed his snowmobile in a ravine on Togwotee Pass Friday at about 12:15pm.
Justin Heyman, 50, of Chicago, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma to the head and chest.
Another snowmobiler in the guided party was mostly buried in a terrain trap in Squaw Creek Basin. The unidentified man triggered the slide just seconds after Heyman had crashed. He was dug out and rescued. Both had become separated briefly from the group in whiteout conditions.
