Snow King open to uphill traffic

JACKSON, Wyo. — Uphill travel on Snow King Moutain is officially still legal in the eyes of Teton County.

Teton District Health Officer Travis Riddell signed an exception order to the recent Public Health Order that closes public spaces and prohibits public gatherings. All personal uphill recreation at Snow King is allowed and Snow King is allowed to keep grooming, as long as Snow King Mountain Resort services remain closed.

The order also stipulates that “no congregating” is allowed “at the base, top, or anywhere on the mountain of more than 10 people.” If you do choose to recreate on Snow King, maintain a safe distance between yourself and other parties.

Grand Targhee is also allowing uphill travel, but the same precautions should be taken.

Uphill travel is prohibited at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
