Slow Food in the Tetons hosts a Winter Farmers Market

JACKSON, WY— In light of last year’s successful winter farmer’s market, Slow Food in the Tetons is now hosting two markets a month instead of one.

Every other Saturday from 2-6 pm, dozens of local farmers and food producers offer shoppers their products: regional winter produce, beef, pork, poultry  and lamb from local ranches, dairy, eggs, honey, plus fermented, canned and prepared foods. Customers will also be able to find the last of this year’s harvested vegetables from local farms, storage crops like potatoes, garlic and onions, and fresh produce from Vertical Harvest. “This Winter People’s Market is such a fun event and a perfect antidote to wintertime cabin fever, said Scott Steen, executive director of Slow Food of the Tetons. “We hope the community comes out to support local food producers and to stock up on delicious and healthy provisions.”

Slow Food Board Member Shauna Lockhart said Slow Food “wants people to know that you can still eat local healthy food in the winter in Jackson. Huidekoper Ranch in Wilson is still harvesting greens and microgreens from their greenhouse!”

All food vendors at the market welcome SNAP EBT Customers.

There’s also live music at every festival, so come listen, look and support local farmers.

The next Winter Market is this Saturday, February 10. Markets are held in the Teton County Fairground Building at 350 W Snow King Ave.
