Search and Rescue responds to two callouts

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) today responded to reports of a buried skier on Teton Pass and an injured snowmobiler in the Gros Ventre.

TCSAR spokesperson Jess King said the first mission was a for a skier avalanched in Wolf Trap near Avvy Bowl and The Claw on Teton Pass. The skier’s companions managed to find and free the victim.

TCSAR called off the airship when the skier said he was okay. Rescue personnel followed up with snowmachines to get the skiers out because some had lost their skis in the snow slide.

The second mission, currently wrapping up as of 3:30pm, was a call for assistance for a female snowmobiler who had crashed and injured herself near Goosewing Ranch in the Gros Ventre.

King said that victim was alert and not in immediately medical danger but was being evacuated from the area by helicopter.
