JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Too early to think about elections this year? Not for some. A few candidates have already declared for seats at the town, county and state level. In addition, the Teton County Library has just announced dates for the popular 2018 voter forums.
Members of the League of Women Voters in conjunction with the Teton County Library and local media announced today “save the dates” for the 2018 election forums. The coalition sponsors a series of forums for both the primary and general elections every two years.
Primary Election forums schedule:
The Primary Election is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 21.
General Election forums schedule:
The General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 6.
All gatherings will be held at the Teton County Library Ordway Auditorium from 6-9pm.
The forums will engage candidates for local races and those seeking to represent Teton County voters and residents in the Wyoming House and Senate. They will include a session on the lodging tax as well. As in the past, the forums will seek questions from members of the audience, will likely include a small panel of questioners, and will be guided by a moderator.
The League, the library and media partners will provide a non-partisan environment in which ideas can be debated in a civil and even-handed manner. For information about the forums, contact the library’s Adult Program Coordinator Leah Shlachter at 307-733-2164 x229 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
