Queen of Corbet’s keeps her crown – 2019 Kings and Queens of Corbet’s Results are in!

JACKSON, WY— After a serious throw down on Tuesday and a much-anticipated announcement, the votes are in, and this year’s King and Queen of Corbet’s have been crowned. This peer-judged event was evaluated by the competitors during a film review on Friday evening. Scores were based on speed and degree of difficulty, innovation, and controlled and completed landings.

In the women’s division, reigning Queen Caite Zeliff snagged first place, while Hana Beaman took second, followed closely by JHMR patroller and Buckrail Newsie, Ashley Babcock.

In the men’s division, Travis Rice and Karl Fostvedt (last year’s King) were neck and neck with a few points difference, with T. Rice ultimately taking home the W. Karl followed closely behind in second, and Blaine Gallivan rounded out the podium.

Travis Rice (center), Karl Fostvedt (right), and Blaine Gallivan (left) accept their large cardboard checks of $10k, $5k, and $3k, respectively.

JHMR also recognized sit-skier Trevor Kennison for his incredible (and first!) drop into Corbet’s as well with a Rider’s Choice Award in remembrance of local skier and friend, Bryce Newcomb.

If you missed it, make sure to check out the Kings and Queens of Corbet’s highlights, brought to you by Buckrail and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
