President orders flags at half-staff today for former First Lady Barbara Bush

WYOMING – President Donald Trump has announced all US flags be flown at half-staff today until sunset in honor of former First Lady Barbara Bush.

Barbara Bush was the wife of the 41st President of the US, George H.W. Bush, and mother of the 43rd president, George W Bush. She died on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in Houston, Texas. She was 92 years old.

The President issued the following release: “On this solemn day, we mourn the loss of Barbara Bush, an outstanding and memorable woman of character. As a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, military spouse, and former First Lady, Mrs. Bush was an advocate of the American family. Mrs. Bush lived a life that reminds us always to cherish our relationships with friends, family, and all acquaintances. In the spirit of the memory of Mrs. Bush, may we always remember to be kind to one another and to put the care of others first.”
