Police Log: Recent calls for service

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Here are some recent calls for service in Teton County/Jackson from the dispatch log. Names may be withheld at the request of law enforcement. All persons cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filing from the Teton County Attorney’s Office.

Comments: Camera found on Town square on 30 May 2019. Camera was held in locker and no one had claimed it.

Comments: On 26 July 2019 at approximately 0035 hours a phone was found. The phone is a newer model. The phone was booked into temporary evidence and was never claimed.

•TRAFFIC ACCIDENT – HIT/RUN, VEHICLE DAM
Comments: A visiting party reported a hit and run collision. Officers responded and learned the collision possibly occurred during the previous evening. No information was known about a suspect vehicle, and the visitor was unable to remember where they were parked. Officers attempted to locate the scene of the incident but were unable to find any additional information. The investigation is ongoing.

Comments: A local woman reported a hit and run on her vehicle while it was parked overnight in a public parking lot. Police have no suspects at this time.

Comments: Hit and Run crash with unattended vehicle. Owner discovered fresh damage to vehicle. Vehicle had been parked on the street overnight.

Comments: A woman reported suspicious activity, which she believed was caused by a man who she has a protection order against. Investigation ongoing.

•WARRANT – OUT OF COUNTY-MISDEMEANOR
Comments: Officers received a REDDI report on a travelling motorist. Officers made contact with the driver and learned he had a valid warrant. Officers arrested driver.

Comments: Man fell from ladder while hanging holiday lights. Taken to hospital via ambulance for treatment.

Comments: Subject missed a meeting. The probation officer thought it was odd and conducted a home visit. The subject admitted to violating parole and was arrested for it.

Comments: Delayed report of a sexual assault. Male subject reportedly forcing himself on female subject. Broken up by friend before anything progressed into any penetration. Act happened in a pool at motel.

Comments: Officers were called to a disturbance where a male subject was attempting to gain entry to a residence. The male was the husband of the female occupant, but they were separated and he was not allowed at the residence without her permission. The male broke down the front door to gain entry and was arrested for destruction of property.

Comments: Dog was located at large in the roadway on the east side of town. The owner of the dog had a chronic problem with not taking responsibility for their dog. Citations issued.

Comments: Local business reported fraudulent activity in their checking account. The bank involved confirmed the false activity. Officers gathered potential suspect information and the investigation is ongoing.

Comments: While officers were responding to a local hotel for a separate event they were notified of a destruction of property that had just occurred. It was reported two intoxicated individuals were breaking windows on vehicles in the parking lot. Officers found the two individuals and both were placed under arrest.

Comments: A man reported a theft of his vehicle’s license plate while it was parked at a local motel. Police do not have any suspects at this time.

Comments: Local resident reported a verbal argument at a neighbors home. Officers arrived on scene and separated two individuals arguing. The scene was investigated and no evidence was found to suggest a crime had occurred. The parties separated and the situation was resolved.

Comments: Officers observed a man that was lying in the sidewalk in front of a local bar. When officers contacted the individual it was discovered the man was highly intoxicated. The man was arrested for public intoxication.

Comments: A local resident reported a suspicious circumstance where they were unable to recall the events from the previous evening. Officers investigated and gathered information from all involved parties. Evidence was collected and all parties stated alcohol was involved. The involved parties were interviewed no additional evidence of a crime was found.

Comments: A man reported a vehicle had rear-ended his truck while he was driving through town. The suspect vehicle continued driving and eluded him. Police have identified the vehicle and owner.

Comments: A man entered a woman’s apartment late at night, without permission, and passed out on the floor. The man, who was highly intoxicated, was arrested for criminal entry.

Comments: Stopped driver for use of cell phone while driving (2nd offense). Driver gave fake ID and was issued citations for cell phone use and driving without a valid driver’s license.

Comments: Male called to report strangers outside his apartment that were trying to break in. Officers arrived and found no suspects, but determined the caller was under the influence of drugs. Caller arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

Comments: Officers dispatched to an apartment, which had the odor of marijuana. Resident allowed Officers into his home and showed Officers where all his marijuana was located. Subject taken into custody.
