Police Log: Recent calls for service

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. – Here are some recent calls for service in Teton County/Jackson from the dispatch log. Names may be withheld at the request of law enforcement. All persons cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filing from the Teton County Attorney’s Office.

Comments: Unlocked bicycle stolen from soccer field. Owner does not know serial number.

Comments: Officer observed vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Officer initiated a traffic stop and investigated the driver for driving under the influence. Officer arrested driver for DUI alcohol.

Comments: A purse was stolen from inside of a local bar. The purse was later found in the men’s restroom with the contents missing. A suspect was developed from video inside the bar and talking with local ride-share drivers. Case active.

Comments: A REDDI report came in stating that a known caller watched a person stumble to their car and then drive away from the downtown area. The vehicle was located, stopped and the driver arrested for DUI. PBT .192%.

Comments: Responded to report of property destruction. Owner said he parked his car last night and came out this morning to find all four tires slashed. Officers reviewing local video surveillance in search of suspect(s).

Comments: Bar staff ask for assistance in properly identifying if an ID is fake. Dispatch confirms ID does not return in system. Owner of ID admits it is a fake and is cited for False ID.

Comments: Responded to report of cold hit and run. Renter said someone hit their rental vehicle while it was parked in hotel parking lot overnight. No known suspect(s).

Comments: Theft at local retailer. Suspect caught on video and identified. Citation issued to suspect.

Comments: Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim lent their vehicle to a friend to drive to another state believing the vehicle was going to be returned later the same day. The vehicle has not been returned in 3 weeks.

Comments: Medical call of an unresponsive male who was possibly overdosing on controlled substance. Use of Narcan kit on male brought him to consciousness. Male was on probation with terms to use no controlled substances. Report to County Attorney and Probation to notify them of male’s violation of probation.

Comments: Subject who was flying out of the airport had their checked bag inspected by TSA. The TSA agent while clearing a suspicious item found what appeared to be green leafy substance inside a glass jar. The owner of the bag was cited.

Comments: Officers responded to a report of a shoplifting. Officers arrived and located the subject. The subject was cited for shoplifting and possession of a controlled substance. The property was returned to the owner.

Comments: Responded to report of man who fell on city property. Investigated at scene, man transported to hospital for laceration to the head.

Comments: Local resident contacted police to inform authorities of a death. Officers arrived on scene and learned a “do not resuscitate” order was in effect for the individual who had passed. The scene was investigated, and medical professionals arrived on scene and verified the subject had passed. Officers assisted with the exchange of information and cleared the scene once all involved parties had the information they needed.

Comments: Officer dispatched to Police Department to speak with a mother and daughter about daughter being harassed by a male friend. Male asked not to make contact with female half any longer.

Comments: Officer observed vehicle speeding 37 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone. Officer initiated a traffic stop and performed SFST’s on the driver. Driver arrested for driving while under the influence.

Comments: A local medical professional reported one of his patients had fraudulently duplicated his prescriptions. Police are currently investigating the allegation.

Comments: Traffic stop for cell phone violation. Driver found to have expired driver’s license and on probation with terms requiring driving only with valid driver’s license. Report to County Attorney for probation violation.

•CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE – MARIJUANA, POSSESSION
•OBSTRUCT JUSTICE – PROBATION VIOLATIONS
Comments: A vehicle was stopped for failing to change lanes when passing a police car (with emergency lights activated) that was pulled over on the side of the road for a traffic stop. During the course of the traffic stop, a canine certified in narcotics detection was deployed on the vehicle. A vape pen style e-cigarette containing suspected THC extract was located inside the car.
