Police Log: Recent calls for service

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Here are some recent calls for service in Teton County/Jackson from the dispatch log. Names may be withheld at the request of law enforcement. All persons cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filing from the Teton County Attorney’s Office.

•SUSPICIOUS – SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
Comments: A suspicious bag was found during a screening sweep at the airport. After investigation, the bag was cleared by the bomb squad without issue.

•THEFT – LARCENY, BICYCLE
Comments: Stolen bicycle. Left unlocked outside the victim’s workplace. The bike was taken while the victim was inside at work.

Comments: A woman reported her vehicle was damaged in an apparent hit and run collision. The vehicle was legally parked in an alleyway near her home.

Comments: Attempted property destruction: A woman found a screw under each back tire of her car. The screws were placed upright with the points against the tires so as to puncture the tires if she backed up. No property damage.

Comments: Officers responded to a local restaurant for a report of a fight. When officers arrived it was discovered two employees had an altercation.

•MEDICAL – AMBULANCE ASSIST
Comments: Probable release order violation: Officers responded to a reported possible overdose. Patient/Suspect was non-compliant and did not want LE presence. P/S was detained by LE for EMS evaluation. P/S struggled with LE during detention process. P/S was on release orders stating no illegal substances and submit to LE search and seizure of his person by LE or probation with reasonable suspicion. Medical assist resolved. P/S later re-contacted at St John’s ER for a disturbance, i.e. refusing to leave. P/S finally agreed to leave. After P/S gone, ER doctor told LE he witnessed P/S push his spouse away in anger as she was trying to calm him and help him get dressed.

Comments: An argument between family members erupted during a party. Two of the members got into a physical altercation where one of them was punched in the face. The suspect was cited for unlawful contact.

Comments: Officers are investigating a report of a hit and run collision.

Comments: Girlfriend and boyfriend got in argument that turned physical. Female scratched the face of the male and caused injury. Female was taken to jail for Domestic Battery.

Comments: A taxi cab attempted to give an intoxicated person a ride home, but the person was unable to provide an address, had the taxi drive in circles, and told the taxi driver he did not have a credit card to pay. The taxi driver drove the person back to where he picked him up and called police. The person was arrested for public intoxication.

Comments: Vehicle traveling east on E Broadway was seen not using a turn signal multiple times. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver fail SFSTs and was arrested for DWUI.

Comments: An unknown vehicle backed into a parked/unoccupied vehicle in a local business parking lot and the driver failed to leave required to contact information before leaving the scene.

Comments: Complaint of an intoxicated male person sitting in front of a local hotel and bar. Male person was contacted by police and arrested for public intoxication.

Comments: A male living in Jackson is allegedly contacting his estranged wife who lives in another state and has a temporary protection order against him.
