JACKSON, Wyo. — The weather has turned cold enough for the town’s ice rinks to reopen.

Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation posted to social media on Thursday morning that staff will be working to maintain the ice rinks now that temps have cooled. Parks & Rec says that it hopes to have the skating rinks back open for this weekend.

Those interested in skating are encouraged to check for updates on the Parks & Rec Facebook page.

Parks & Rec announced 10 days ago that the ice rinks would close due to warmer-than-average winter temperatures. At the time, the agency did not anticipate reopening the rinks, but the return of winter to the valley has given staff an opportunity to get the rinks in skating shape once again. The rinks opened late this season, also due to warm temps.
